No individual wants their teeth to be discoloured, and just like wrinkles, they attempt to fight it. Whilst each person's teeth will change over years, there are a few things that can be done to avoid teeth discolouration. Teeth whitening remedies have become extremely popular in recent times and listed below are some natural teeth whitening solutions.
1. Brush After Each Meal and Drink
One of the easiest ways to prevent teeth discolouration is to brush your teeth after each meal and every drink. Certain drinks such as coffee and food such as beetroot can stain the teeth, so it is advised to brush your teeth to eliminate any discolouration.
2. Floss Your Teeth
Flossing is as easy as brushing; however, some people prefer not to floss. Nevertheless, dentists believe that flossing is more important than brushing. Flossing twice a day can remove any staining between the teeth, which will result in a whiter smile.
3. Eat Strawberries
It is believed that eating strawberries can help to whiten teeth. The reason for this is because strawberries contain an enzyme known as malic acid and vitamin C. The astringent that is found in strawberries can help to remove surface stains, whilst the vitamin C removes any plaque. A few strawberries can be mashed and brushed onto the teeth twice a week for positive results. Eating the strawberries will also help to whiten teeth, but they must be chewed well, which will allow them to coat all of the teeth.
4. Baking Soda and Lemon
This remedy is probably the most common teeth whitening solution. Mixing baking soda with lemon juice causes a chemical reaction which gives the teeth a brightening effect. Both of these ingredients work well individually, but when mixed together they are super-effective. This solution should only be used once a week; otherwise, the tooth enamel can be worn away.
Mix a small amount of baking soda with freshly squeezed lemon juice in a small bowl. This should then be brushed onto the teeth and left for just one minute before gently brushing off with a toothbrush.
5. Eat Crunchy Fruit and Vegetables
Fruit and vegetables such as carrots, celery and apples are all beneficial to the teeth. Crunchy fruit and vegetables are just like nature's own little toothbrushes. Excess food and bacteria can be removed from the mouth when eating such foods. Surface stains can be removed when eating such crunchy fruit and vegetables.
6. Apple Cider Vinegar
When used on a regular basis, apple cider vinegar can remove stubborn stains on the teeth. However, it is important that care is taken, as with all acidic items, there is a risk that the tooth enamel can be removed if used in excess. It is imperative that after the teeth have been brushed with apple cider vinegar, a regular non fluoride toothpaste is used to brush off any excess.

Hello there! Welcome to my blog. I would like to start by telling you a story about something that happened to me many years ago. I was working in Sydney at the time as an investment banker. The hours were long and I would party every weekend to de-stress. I put on a lot of weight and began to have problems sleeping. I didn't pay much attention to the problems, as I thought I was invincible. However, one day I collapsed at work. At the hospital the doctors saved my life. Since then, I have become very interested in health and medical matters.
